There are so many ways to get involved with the Savage Arts Council this year that it makes it hard to decide which to do! As an organization we focus our energies on programs, events and activities that support our areas local economies and artists. Yes, we are a Savage, Minnesota based organization but our reach is truly regional in that we help support events for Savage, Scott County and Minnesota artists and arts groups. So you don't have to live in Savage to join the fun and jump into volunteering!
The Arts Council Board of Directors
Anyone who lives or works in Savage or Scott County may become involved in the Arts Council Board. One third of our Board Members can be from outside of Savage, so just because you live outside our community, doesn't mean that you can't be on the board! You can and all board meetings are open to the public on the second Tuesday of the month from 5:30 to 7:00pm at Savage City Hall. So come to our meetings, become a member and learn more about us.
Planning Committees
For each event we host or become involved in requires planning at some level whether it is small or large. Currently we have three very active planning committees that could use your support:
Each has its own set of needs but one thing they all have in comon is they need community support from artists and non-artists alike to be successful. There are so many fun things to do and ways to become involved that we can always use another pair of hands to jump into the fun!
Event or Activity Volunteers
OK, so you want to be involved but you don't want a be part of the planning group, you want to be on the frontlines during the action...GREAT! We need people during the events and activities to really make things happen. All the planning in the world is only affective if we can actually make it happen and that takes help! Here are some of the front line things we will need help with this year:
